What to do in Aliki

You are guaranteed to find everything you need during your stay in the picturesque village of Aliki Traditional taverns serve fresh fish and local dishes while in the cafes and bars you can sip cocktails and watch the world go by. Supermarkets sell a wide variety of locally produced fruit, vegetables and cheeses as well as high quality international products.

Fresh fish can be bought directly from the fishing boats early in the morning and meat is sold at a traditional butcher’s. There are also various and remarkable cultural events that are organized during the festival of Saint John of Cleidon in June,the festival of the Savior on August 6 and the festival of the
Cross on Sptember 14.

More activities

When it comes to beaches ,you are truly spoilt for choice. As well as Agios Nikolaos and Piso Aliki, the bays of Faragas, Voutakos, Glyfa, Tripiti are only a few minutes drive away. Daily boat trips to more remote beaches can also be organised. There is a diving centre giving visitors the chance to discover the beauty of the ocean with its magnificent marine life.

Kite surfing and wind surfing facilities are on offer in the area of Pounta , only 6 km from Aliki. A yoga centre where you can enjoy peace and tranquillity is close by. Sports facilities include tennis and basketball courts and a football ground. Also two large playgrounds allow parents to kick back and relax whilst the children play freely. Last but not least, a visit to the Cycladic museum of Benetos Skiadas is not to be missed.

Trekking & Hiking

From Lefkes to Aliki

If you are a diligent hiker, the route that leads from Lefkes to Aliki passing by Agios Ioannis Kaparos, Agios Georgios, Aneratza and Kamari will be a real challenge for you. The trail is 19 km long and the hike takes about 6 hours, along with a stop for snacks. Arriving in Aliki, reward yourself with a refreshing dip in the beach of the area.

The Museum of Cycladian Folklore in Aliki

The Museum of Cycladic Folklore is located in Alyki of Paros, at the entrance of the village. It was created entirely by its owner and creator, Beneto Skiada, who has created for the last 20 years one of the largest miniature collections in Greece.

The museum has an indoor and outdoor exhibition space where faithful copies (miniatures) of famous and non-Greek monuments are presented such as: The Lions of Delos, the White Tower, the monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa of Amorgos, Panagia of Tinos, the Venetian Castle of Paros , the destroyer “ELLI”, the cave of Antiparos, the ancient theater of Milos, the first cafe in Paros, the famous lighthouse of Andros, a traditional windmill (3m high), a traditional ironworks with all its tools, pigeons of Tinos and .a.

Inside the museum you will also see a small fleet of ships, warships, merchants, fishing, trawlers, sailboats, steamships, triremes and much more, which have been crafted in great detail.
